The tension is rising, the pain is aching, and yet I keep moving forward. There’s too much to do, and not enough time. How could I justify stepping away for a moment for a walk? Or to shut my eyes? If this kind of resistance is familiar to you, then keep reading.

Take this moment to focus on your wellness. Begin by bringing your attention to your breathing, and with each breath try to clear your agenda so that you can be present with yourself.

What do you feel: physically? Emotionally? Mentally?

And what does that tell you that you need to feel better? Feel more like yourself?

Can you give yourself permission to enjoy whatever you do for yourself?

Obligations block our communication with our body and what we need in this moment. I love the quote, “be kind to your body, it’s the only place you have to live,” because as we neglect our need to go for a walk, stretch out an achy muscle, relax on the couch after a long day of work, or meditate, we are pushed further from where we hope to be. We can find our way by listening to what our bodies tell us.
